Sandra Claus (no relation to Santa) travels to the North Pole for a temp job only to join forces with her Elf friend and co-worker, Moose, in order to topple the corrupt head of the Elf union and save Christmas.
Synopsis
The day after Thanksgiving Sandra fights with her mother, Jacklyn, the CEO of Chicago’s premium milk delivery company, Milk of the Earth. Jacklyn reneges on her promise to give Christmas bonuses to the company’s drivers and they go on strike. Jacklyn wants Sandra, who has previously worked as a driver, to lead the scab brigade. Sandra rebuffs her mother’s request since she already has a job as a waiter at a Christmas pop-up bar owned by a Danish expat, Bjørn. When Bjørn discovers that the strike will interrupt his Milk of the Earth milk supply which he needs for his signature Christmas eggnog, he insists that Sandra find a work-around. Instead, Sandra quits and gets a temp job in Santaland at the North Pole. There she quickly learns that all Humans work in Santa’s coal mine and the conditions are inhumane. Sandra files a complaint with the head of the Elf union, Mistletoe Jones, but this just puts Sandra on his “watch” list. Meanwhile, Mistletoe has called for the Elves to strike against CDI, the event production company which produces Christmas. With Christmas in danger of being canceled for the second time ever, Sandra and her Elf friend, Moose, appeal to Santa whom they find happily retired and playing congas in a reggae band. Mistletoe eventually deports Sandra from Santaland for interfering with the strike and serves Moose with notice to appear before the union’s punitive tribunal, the Elf Integrity Committee. Back at home Sandra confronts Jacklyn about her unacceptable treatment of the drivers and threatens to report her behavior to CDI which would put Milk of the Earth on CDI’s ‘Naughty Company’ list and be bad for business. Jacklyn immediately reinstates the drivers’ bonuses before leaving town in search of a Christmas-free zone. On Christmas Eve Sandra and Bjørn sip sweet milky eggnog in front of a roaring fire. Sleigh bells are suddenly heard. Moose arrives at Sandra’s house driving Santa’s sleigh with a gift and a story about how the bond of their fellowship, Human and Elf, beat Mistletoe at his own game and saved Christmas.
