A new mother is weaned by her eight-month old baby in the dreamscape of their shared attachment and separation.
I made Løsrivelse (Weaning) while living in Denmark. I applied for and was awarded a grant from The Danish Film Institute’s Filmværkstedet. The film was shot in July 2003, midsummer, when the light in Denmark is at its most sublime. I worked with an amazing team of artists who brought my Cocteau-inspired narrative to the screen.
